Swedish rock icon Matti Alfonzetti is back with Going For The Kill, a brand new studio album arriving on December 11, 2026 via Frontiers Music Srl. To open the campaign, the singer has shared the first single and official music video, “Runaway”.
Alfonzetti calls the song a classic rock statement that sets the tone for the rest of the record, and a personal favourite among the new tracks.

A Tribute to 70s and 80s AOR
Going For The Kill is a melodic rock album that blends classic influences with a modern edge, drawing on genre masters such as Foreigner, FM, Def Leppard, Bryan Adams and Alias while adding fresh energy and polished production. Soaring hooks and crisp arrangements put Alfonzetti’s soulful voice and songwriting front and center.

On the recordings, Alfonzetti handles lead and backing vocals as well as bass, rhythm guitars and keyboards. He is joined by Dante Alfonzetti on bass for “Going For The Kill” and “When The Gods Play Rock n’ Roll”, Staffan Brodén on drums and Martin Jepsen Andersen on lead guitar.
Four Decades of Melodic Rock
Alfonzetti first made waves in the 80s with Bam Bam Boys before fronting Jagged Edge (UK) and Skintrade, then launched a solo career with albums such as Ready and Machine. He has also been a key part of projects like Impera, Red White & Blues and Road to Ruin, building a reputation as a performer, producer and songwriter, and one of Scandinavia’s most enduring rock vocalists.
