Legendary Dream Theater keyboardist Jordan Rudess has announced the release of his new solo album, ‘Permission To Fly,’ set to drop on September 6th, 2024, via InsideOutMusic. Known for his innovative approach to music, Rudess delves into the complexities of human existence in this latest project, influenced by the events of 2023-2024 and themes of peace and anti-violence.
Rudess explains, “The essence of the album is deeply informed by the tumultuous events of 2023-2024, with motifs of peace and anti-violence woven throughout many of the songs.”
‘Permission To Fly’ features a core group of talented musicians, including That Joe Payne on vocals, Darby Todd on drums, and Steve Dadaian on guitar, with guest guitar solos by Bastian Martinez. All lyrics on the album were penned by Rudess’s daughter, Ariana, adding a deeply personal touch to the project.
