Abiotic guitarist and viral content creator John Matos has teamed up with his five-year-old daughter Sage for a metal cover of Ms. Rachel’s “I Love a Rainbow”, out now on all streaming platforms. The video for the duet has already passed 100,000 views.
Sage, who loves Spiritbox, Ms. Rachel and Lady Gaga, joins her dad on a track that blends his two worlds: heavy riffs and the kind of humor that has earned him tens of millions of views on social media.
A founding member of Abiotic, Matos released his first recorded work on the 2010 EP A Universal Plague and has toured North America and Europe alongside Suffocation, Belphegor, Cattle Decapitation, The Faceless, Dying Fetus, Exhumed and Rivers of Nihil. Known for his work on seven- and eight-string guitars, he blends death metal, technical death metal and deathcore with influences ranging from Gojira, Cynic and Necrophagist to hip-hop, flamenco and jazz. Abiotic’s first two albums came out via Metal Blade Records, while Ikigai and A Universal Plague: Mutation were released through The Artisan Era.
