Nirvana fans, mark your calendars! The 30th anniversary of the band’s raw and highly acclaimed third album, “In Utero,” is upon us, and Geffen/UMe is set to celebrate with a range of multi-format reissues, arriving on October 27. These exciting configurations include a limited-edition 8LP Super Deluxe box set, 5CD Super Deluxe box set, 1 LP + 10” edition, 2CD Deluxe edition, and a Digital Super Deluxe edition.

Among the reissue offerings, the three Super Deluxe Edition releases are especially noteworthy, as they collectively feature a staggering 72 tracks, including 53 previously unreleased tracks. Notably, fans can now experience two full In Utero-era concerts, “Live In Los Angeles (1993)” and the band’s final Seattle performance, “Live In Seattle (1994),” along with six bonus live tracks from Rome, Springfield, and New York. These live tracks, meticulously reconstructed from stereo soundboard tapes by Seattle producer and engineer Jack Endino (known for his work on the band’s 1988 debut “Bleach”), promise an immersive listening experience. Moreover, the original twelve songs from In Utero, complemented by five bonus tracks and B-sides, have been newly remastered from the original analog master stereo tapes by Bob Weston at Chicago Mastering Services.

The physical Super Deluxe Edition box sets also include an array of captivating memorabilia, such as a removable front-cover acrylic panel featuring the album’s iconic angel, a 48-page hardcover book filled with unreleased photos, a newly designed 20-page fanzine, a Los Angeles tour poster lithograph by hot rod artist Coop, replicas of the 1993 record store promo Angel mobile, three gig flyers, two ticket stubs for Los Angeles and Seattle concerts, an All-Access tour laminate, and four cloth sticky tour backstage passes: Press, Photo, After Show, and Local Crew.

Nirvana’s third and final studio album, “In Utero,” originally released on September 21, 1993, remains a seminal work of the modern era. It stunned critics and fans alike with its unfiltered sonic intensity, capturing every primal nuance of Kurt Cobain, Krist Novoselic, and Dave Grohl’s most confrontational yet vulnerable compositions. This album followed the monumental success of “Nevermind” in 1991, and it marked Nirvana’s first #1 debut on the Billboard 200, subsequently achieving 6x platinum certification in the United States.
