The Brothers, a British-born, Europe-based group rooted in soul, pop, neo-soul, funk and jazz, are entering a busy new phase. Their music is now played on more than 200 radio stations internationally, they return to New York’s NuBlu on November 25, 2026, and they are preparing an international tour across Europe, Brazil and the United States for 2027.

Their latest single is a new version of Bobby Caldwell’s classic “What You Won’t Do for Love.” The rendition keeps the soul of the original while approaching it as a soulful adult contemporary song with jazz-infused elements and groove. It is receiving radio support in several international markets and is streaming now:

Built Through Collaboration

The Brothers write, produce, record and perform their own music, and collaboration has shaped their path. Incognito remixed their song “Get Down,” and Bah Samba reworked “Now Is The Right Time.” Their recording and production work includes projects with musicians such as Mark Whitfield, Cory Henry, Christian McBride, Pino Palladino, Isaiah Sharkey, James Genus, Stacy Dillard, Sasha Berliner and Paul Brown. The project Keeping The Music Alive brings them together with guitarist Mark Whitfield, vibraphonist Sasha Berliner and New York saxophonist Stacy Dillard, with Berliner on “From New York to Rio” and Dillard on “Givin’ You All My Love.” Brazilian and Latin American influences also run through their music.

In 2026 the group won the Ageas Cooljazz by Smooth FM Talent Competition and became part of the wider Ageas Cooljazz programme in Europe.

Back to New York

In 2025 the first edition of The Brothers & Friends at NuBlu in New York sold out, featuring Whitfield alongside musicians who have worked with Marcus Miller, Jon Batiste, the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra and the Pat Metheny Group, plus actor and singer Leon Robinson. The second edition, on November 25, 2026, again features Whitfield, with surprise special guests to be announced. More information and press materials are available on the group’s website.

Our Take

The Brothers are a long way from our usual metal and rock coverage, but musicianship is musicianship. Tackling a song as beloved as “What You Won’t Do for Love” takes confidence, and the list of collaborators suggests serious players respect what they do. Fans of smooth soul and jazz-funk should keep an eye on that 2027 tour, especially if it reaches Brazil, where their influences come from.
