Nashville symphonic power metal sextet Valkyrie’s Fire have released a music video for “Evermore,” a track that takes Edgar Allan Poe’s “The Raven” and turns its despair on its head. It is the third visual from their debut full-length Out of Darkness, out now via Eclipse Records.

The video was directed by vocalist Bettie Floyd alongside ProMotion LLC. Floyd envisioned a production that captures the atmosphere of Poe’s 19th-century world, grounding the narrative in a classical aesthetic before launching into modern metal triumph.

Where Poe’s original resigns itself to endless sorrow with that famous “Nevermore,” the band flips the script.

“The video interprets the dark, isolation-filled moments everyone faces in life, yet pivots toward a resilient message of healing,” says bassist Dave Hale. “Rather than dwelling in permanent desolation, the narrative reminds listeners that the loved ones we lose live on eternally through memory, urging us to honor them by living life to the fullest.”

That emotional shift is mirrored in the structure. The verses unfold in period-accurate surroundings, carrying the somber weight of the poem’s origins. As the chorus swells, the tone turns vibrant and uplifting, with Adam Sanders’ vocals locking into harmonies with Floyd.

About The Album

Produced and engineered by guitarist Joey Grimaldi, the 13-track debut arrived September 18 with a polished sound that stands up to the European giants of the genre. Cover art comes from Jan Yrlund, whose portfolio includes Battle Beast, Manowar and Delain.

A central pillar is “Burning Sky,” featuring a guest appearance by Mikael Sehlin of Amaranthe, who also mastered the album. His grittier delivery cuts against the soaring symphonic arrangements on a song that explores human endurance through historical and biblical lenses. “Cascade” goes more atmospheric, tracing the transition from dusk to night as constellations emerge.

The band blends European grandiosity with the sharp production values of the modern Nashville metal scene, drawing comparisons to Epica, Within Temptation and Nightwish. They follow their 2024 debut EP Ascension.
