Thomas Miller‘s Lazarus Effect, the new project led by former Symphony X co-founder and bassist Thomas Miller, has shared a video for “Fear No Evil”. The song comes from the project’s self-titled debut, out October 30 on Sensory Records, the metal arm of The Laser’s Edge.

“I feel ‘Fear No Evil’ is the best representation of the album in a nutshell. It sits right in the middle of all the other songs and was a great song for the artist, Rodrigo A. Gudina, to use his creative imagery to convey to the listener some of the connotations within the lyrics. Everyone was also able to spread their wings and flex their technical muscles a bit more on this one as well.”

A Symphony X Reunion of Sorts

The 49-minute progressive metal album reunites Miller with two of his former Symphony X bandmates, guitarist Michael Romeo and keyboardist Michael Pinnella. Eric Rachel (Symphony X, Black Sabbath, The Black Dahlia Murder) mixed and mastered the record, and Rodrigo Gudiña handled the artwork and design as well as the “Fear No Evil” video.

About Thomas Miller

Miller grew up in central New Jersey playing in cover and original bands inspired by the progressive rock of the 1970s and 1980s. He met Michael Romeo in 1986, and in 1994 the pair formed Symphony X, signing with Japan’s Zero Records. Miller played on the band’s first five albums, from Symphony X and The Damnation Game to The Divine Wings of Tragedy, Twilight in Olympus and Prelude to the Millennium, before stepping away for personal reasons. A 2017 collaboration with vocalist Howard “Hollywood How” Portney sparked the songwriting that became Lazarus Effect, a record aimed squarely at fans of Symphony X, Dream Theater, Circus Maximus, Redemption and Kamelot.
