A Perfect Circle have released a new video for “Starless” as the single spends its second straight week at #1 on the Active Rock radio chart. The clip captures the very first live performance of the song, filmed at the band’s sold-out London show this summer by Jon Vulpine and Justin Jones and edited by Jake Johnston.

“Of course I’m excited to release the recordings, but our songs always take on an expanded personality once we start playing them live.”

“Starless” was recorded at Billy Howerdel’s Lankershim Ranch Studio in Studio City, California. Howerdel produced the track, Matty Green (U2, Florence + the Machine, TV on the Radio) mixed it, and longtime collaborator Josh Freese plays drums.

“Some songs get kicked around and massaged for years. But once in a while, one takes shape quickly, as if it had been there all along.”

The band have also shared a second new song, “To Whom It May Concern”, a more nuanced counterpoint to the muscular “Starless”.

About A Perfect Circle

Guitarist Billy Howerdel and vocalist Maynard James Keenan formed A Perfect Circle in 1999. Their 2000 debut Mer de Noms entered the Billboard 200 at #4, the highest-charting debut rock album of its time, and went platinum on the strength of “Judith”, “3 Libras” and “The Hollow”. Thirteenth Step (2003) and eMOTIVe (2004) followed, and 2018’s Eat the Elephant debuted at #3. The band have headlined festivals worldwide and sold out the Hollywood Bowl, Madison Square Garden and Red Rocks.
