Chilean power metal project Arenas del Tiempo have released “Anónimos” (Anonymous), the second preview of their upcoming studio album, following “Batalla de Los Ríos”, a song inspired by the historical Arauco War.
Led by bassist and composer Daniel Arenas, the project blends explosive power metal with progressive arrangements and a strong narrative focus. This time the subject moves away from historical epics to the invisible threads that connect people in modern society: decisions made by strangers we will never meet can still send ripples that shape our own lives.
A Clear Line on AI
The accompanying video follows a series of characters and situations that seem unrelated at first, only to gradually intersect. To build that cinematic world, the band used artificial intelligence tools for video generation, visual artwork and promotional assets, which Daniel Arenas says gives an independent act access to visuals that would normally require a prohibitive budget. The music itself, he stresses, is another story.
“There is a line that, for me, is completely non-negotiable: music itself is not created with artificial intelligence. I don’t use it to compose, write songs, generate melodies, build arrangements, or replace the work of musicians.”
Daniel Arenas
“Music must stem from the raw creativity, life experiences, and craftsmanship of real human beings.”
Daniel Arenas
With “Anónimos”, Arenas del Tiempo show that their vision goes well beyond historical storytelling, using metal to reflect on the questions of modern life.
