Finnish modern metal band ATLAS have returned with “Bittersleep”, their first new release since the album Sunder arrived in February 2026, alongside an official lyric video and a matching T-shirt available through the band’s webstore.
Where Sunder explored death, healing, rebirth and faith, “Bittersleep” focuses on a deeply personal moment caught between dream and reality, intimacy and loss. The track blends powerful melodies with crushing heaviness in the style the band call Northcore, moving between modern metal, metalcore and deathcore and drawing on influences such as Deftones, HIM, Orbit Culture, Sleep Token and Humanity’s Last Breath.
“I die in my dreams, endlessly. Waiting for you, my Anemone.”
