The band say they set out to write something “absolutely disgusting but still fun.” The song is built on a slow, heavy groove, with tempo changes, nasty riffs and huge breakdowns. The story is a tongue-in-cheek look at internet culture, featuring a goth witch who curses men through digital payment apps. In the band’s words:
“It’s not really about money, it’s just making fun of how weird everything has gotten and how crazy life is right now.”

Tucker also appears in the music video, which the band shot in Denver. Atoll say they have been fans of his vocals for a long time and that he “absolutely killed his part.”
Slam With a Sense of Humor
Formed in Phoenix in 2014, Atoll blend brutal death metal with groove, slam, grind and hardcore. Their releases include Prepuce (2022), Human Extract (2023) and the 2024 full-length Inhuman Implants. They have toured with Pyrexia and Xoth, supported Crown Magnetar on the Unique Legion Tour 2024 and joined Necrotic Gorebeast on The Guttural Spring Tour 2026.
The band produced the record themselves. It was recorded by Wade Taylor at Filthy Swine Productions, and Miguel Tereso of DemiGod Recordings mixed and mastered it. The cover is by Karl Dahmer. Other guests include Nathan Gearheart of Vehemence and Vladislav Martirosov and Arseny Kovalchuk of Extermination Dismemberment, while former member Spencer Ferguson recorded rhythm and lead guitars.

Our Take
Slam is a genre that rarely takes itself too seriously, and Atoll lean into that with song titles like “Spice Spice Baby” and “Par For the Corpse.” Bringing in Dan Tucker, whose band they once supported on tour, is a smart move for a first single, and the slower tempo gives the breakdowns extra weight. If heavy and ridiculous is your idea of a good time, this one delivers.
Atoll are: Wade Taylor (vocals), Cameron Broomfield (bass), Matt Markle (guitar), Max Stark (drums).
