New Norwegian heavy metal outfit AVRAK, featuring Anders Hegna (Nød, El Kayenne, Svidd Grevling) and Darkthrone’s Ted Skjellum, have released their second single “The Lonely Shadow” along with a lyric video. The track is taken from their self-titled debut album, out October 9 via Peaceville Records.
Described as a “Heavy Metal voyage from the peak of the mountains to the depths of the seas”, AVRAK explores themes of empowerment in increasingly corrupt times across nine tracks. Built on a classic heavy metal and doom rock backbone, the record draws on a wide range of influences, with synth passages and even traces of black metal riffing in its DNA. It was recorded, mixed and mastered by Knut Magne Valle at Mølla Studio in February 2026.
“Heavy Metal tastes great, ripe from the roots of cosmos”
Ted Skjellum
