Twenty-five years after Weathered debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 and stayed there for eight straight weeks, Creed and Craft Recordings are marking the album with a newly remastered and expanded 25th Anniversary Deluxe Edition, out November 20 on 2-LP, CD and digital. That is exactly 25 years to the day after the original 2001 release.

The album has been certified 6X Platinum by the RIAA and remains a defining rock record of the early 2000s, carrying “My Sacrifice,” “One Last Breath,” the title track and live staple “Bullets.”

The anniversary edition pairs the remastered album with four bonus tracks from the era, led by Creed’s cover of The Doors’ “Riders on the Storm” featuring Doors guitarist Robby Krieger. Also included are edits of “My Sacrifice” and “Weathered” plus an acoustic version of “Don’t Stop Dancing.”

The 2-LP set marks the album’s first ever vinyl release, presented in a gatefold jacket. Beyond the standard black pressing, there is a run of limited color variants split across retailers: Sunspot Swirl at the Official Creed Store, Ember Swirl from Craft Recordings, Tiger’s Eye via Revolver, Moss Swirl at Barnes & Noble, Translucent Forest Green at Urban Outfitters, Golden Yellow at Books-A-Million, and Burnt Red Swirl through indie record stores and Vinyl Voice.

Streaming today is “My Sacrifice (Radio Edit / Remastered 2026).” Released in the fall of 2001, the song became a major crossover hit, reaching number four on the Billboard Hot 100.

The Album

By the time Creed started work on Weathered, the Florida band had already reached a level few of their contemporaries could match. Their 1997 debut My Own Prison established them nationally, and 1999’s Human Clay pushed them into the mainstream with “Higher” and the Grammy-winning number one single “With Arms Wide Open.”

Recorded in Florida with longtime producer John Kurzweg and co-producer Kirk Kelsey, Weathered found the band working as a trio: vocalist Scott Stapp, guitarist Mark Tremonti and drummer Scott Phillips, with Tremonti also handling bass throughout.

The record pushed toward both ends of their sound. The opening pair of “Bullets” and “Freedom Fighter” ranks among their heaviest recorded work, while “My Sacrifice” and “One Last Breath” leaned into sweeping melodies and arena-sized dynamics. The title track paired a blues-inflected riff with lyrics about the pressures and scrutiny of the band’s rapid ascent, and “Don’t Stop Dancing” widened the palette with the Tallahassee Boys’ Choir. The brief “Lullaby” closed things out.

“One Last Breath,” built around one of Tremonti’s most recognizable guitar figures, peaked at number six on the Hot 100. Both singles remain fixtures of rock culture, and Creed’s return to the stage has introduced the catalog to audiences too young to have caught the original run.
