German power metal band Eternity’s End have released a video for “Sword In The Storm”, the second single from their fourth studio album Titanblood, out November 6 via Scarlet Records.
The song tells the story of Elric of Melniboné and his cursed, blood-drinking sword Stormbringer. It opens with a blast beat riff that nods to symphonic black metal, then races through thrashy, technical riffing and symphonic arrangements toward an epic chorus, with a guitar and keyboard solo duel that recalls early Children Of Bodom. The video was directed by Grasser Production.
Titanblood
Led by virtuoso guitarist Christian Muenzner (ex-Obscura, Paradox, Necrophagist), the band welcomes new singer Mike Livas (Silent Winter, Bloodorn) on this record. Titanblood was produced, mixed and mastered by drummer Hannes Grossmann at Mordor Sound Studios, with cover art by Dimitar Nikolov.
Expect fast, aggressive and technical power metal with soaring vocals, anthemic choruses, solo duels and riffs that border on technical thrash. The album also brings back some of the progressive and symphonic elements of the band’s debut. While not a concept album, every song tells a dark fantasy story inspired by Robert E. Howard, Michael Moorcock, Edgar Allan Poe and the Dark Souls video games. Fans of Symphony X, early Blind Guardian, early Helloween, Helstar and Crimson Glory should take note.
Titanblood will be available on digipak CD, marbled yellow vinyl limited to 300 copies, and digital. The first single, “Ravenheart”, is also out now.
