Detroit hard rock band Eva Under Fire have released a new song and video, “Starshine,” via Better Noise Music. It comes fresh off a four-month US arena and amphitheater tour supporting labelmates Five Finger Death Punch.
Listen to “Starshine” here.
Stadium-sized drums drive the track, with a coiling guitar lead building tension until frontwoman Amanda Lyberg’s soulful, commanding voice takes over. The chorus soars, built around the line “I’m in the starshine losing time.”
“When you’re up at 3am and can’t sleep because something feels off… that’s the ‘Starshine.’ Reflecting on how amazing this tour has been, I felt the song was a really great description of those post-tour blues. […] It’s changed us. It keeps us up at night. Normal life will never feel the same, and we wouldn’t have it any other way.”

A Breakout Year
Earlier in 2026 the band released the album Villainous, which featured a collaboration with In This Moment’s Maria Brink and racked up millions of streams. RIFF Magazine noted how quickly Lyberg embraced her “larger-than-life persona” on the record.
Lyberg’s story goes beyond music. She is a licensed psychotherapist specializing in trauma, grief, loss and addiction recovery, and lost her father to a fentanyl overdose in 2018. That story became the award-winning 2023 short film My Rockstar, which used Eva Under Fire’s music throughout.
The band’s 2022 debut, Love, Drugs & Misery, included the Top 20 Active Rock single “Unstoppable” with Cory Marks, and SiriusXM named them one of its 2023 Ones To Watch. Their songs appeared in the films The Retaliators (“Blow,” featuring Spencer Charnas of Ice Nine Kills) and Sno Babies (“Heroin(e)”). They have toured with Bush, Bad Wolves, Pop Evil, Skillet and Finger Eleven, played festivals such as Aftershock, Inkcarceration and Rock Fest, and passed 100 million streams and 10 million YouTube views.
Lyberg also brought her therapy background into the studio, using it to encourage open dialogue between band members so everyone felt heard during the recording of their new music. It is an unusual approach for a hard rock band, and it shows in songs that deal honestly with anxiety, addiction and the pressure of a fast-growing career.
Our Take
Most bands write about the road while they are on it. “Starshine” captures what comes after, the restless 3am feeling of returning to normal life after a tour of that size. It is an honest angle on a familiar subject, and Lyberg’s voice carries it. More tour dates are expected soon.
