After a hiatus spanning almost a decade, JOB FOR A COWBOY makes a triumphant return with a brand new single and its captivating accompanying video, “The Agony Seeping Storm.” Scheduled for a 2024 release under Metal Blade Records, the album marks their reentry into the metal scene.

In 2014, Job for a Cowboy released their acclaimed full-length album, “Sun Eater,” garnering praise from Decibel Magazine, admitting, “These deathcore originators evolved into an impressively strong band.” Alternative Press chimed in, praising the record as “a full-on progressive death metal band” and one of the best metal albums of 2014.

A decade later, the band returns with their most intense work yet. The forthcoming untitled album is a blend of diverse musical elements, seamlessly combining unapologetic brutality with captivating conceptual themes. Their initial release, ‘The Agony Seeping Storm,’ showcases intricate death metal craftsmanship, evoking echoes of visionary experimentalists like Cynic, Atheist, and Gorguts. A rejuvenated lineup effortlessly continues the journey started by “Sun Eater.”

The accompanying video, co-directed by bassist Nick Schendzielos, takes inspiration from a friend’s quest for enlightenment through hallucinogenic substances, leading to spiritual and mental challenges. These struggles are mirrored in the video, reflecting their experiences with Gnostic and biblical themes.

The official return performance for Job for a Cowboy is slated for the Blue Ridge Rock Festival on September 8th, with further tour dates soon to be unveiled.
