Guitar virtuoso Joe Stump has released “Hyperbolic”, the second single and video from his new instrumental solo album Lord of the Strings, out this Friday, October 16, via Silver Lining Music. It follows the blistering album opener “Full Throttle”.

“Hyperbolic” pairs crushing riffs and strong hooks with high-velocity shred, takes a detour into Eastern-flavored, Blackmore-inspired playing and closes its solo section with a vicious arpeggio run.

“The best way to describe it is complete metal badassery. This one contains some of my favorite riff action to date and it combines really nicely with all of the strong melodic content of the track.”

A Heavy Metal Guitar Orgy

Across 12 instrumental tracks, Stump moves from pure speed on “Full Throttle” to traditional melodic heavy metal on “Playing with Fire”, lets his leads carry the story on “In the Hall of the King” and “Eternity of Darkness”, and slows down for acoustic reflection on “Den of Vipers” and “Leipzig 1722”. Stump played all guitars and bass, while Francisco Palomo handled keyboards and drums and engineered, mixed and mastered the album at the Dungeon. The two co-produced it.
