Indonesian avant-garde/experimental metal band Kekal announces the formation of a sub-unit called K432, focusing on acoustic guitar music tuned to the 432 Hz root note (A4 note) frequency. With their new single titled “K432 – Born Anew”, accompanied by a music video, K432 introduces itself not as a new “band” or “artist name,” but as a sub-unit of Kekal dedicated to acoustic guitar music, running in parallel with Kekal’s future releases. All material released under K432 consists and will consist of re-worked versions of existing Kekal songs with different arrangements suited for acoustic guitar and clean singing. Genre-wise, the music may be categorized under alternative and psychedelic-folk instead of metal.

This new single will be available on various digital streaming platforms on May 17, 2024, as well as for download on Bandcamp. More individual singles will be released digitally in the future until the full-length album is completed. The album title will also be announced in the near future.
According to Jeff, composer/producer of the music: “I feel that it’s time to embark on a stripped-down acoustic guitar-based project and record some material with 432 Hz tuning, something that I haven’t consciously done before. I always like to explore new territories rather than repeat the same old cycle because I view music as an adventure connected to the soul’s learning process. Now, I feel I’ve exhausted the possibilities of 440 Hz tuning, so the most intuitive first step is to create simpler and more organic music with the acoustic guitar as the primary instrument. I want to experience the 432 Hz tuning firsthand during recording.”
