Back to the Roots
Following April’s “See The Reapers Coming”, the already mixed and mastered “Deception Station” will appear on Kekal’s upcoming album Kanata, which is currently in the works. The song channels the raw energy of the band’s 1998 debut Beyond The Glimpse Of Dreams, with 80s classic metal riffs and first-wave black metal, plus the crust-punk and d-beat touches the band picked up along the way. It is a more organic, guitar-led track, with fewer synths and more metal than electronics, while keeping Kekal’s taste for the unexpected.
About Kekal
Formed in 1995, Kekal started as a straightforward extreme metal band before branching out into more experimental territory. They were among the first Indonesian metal acts to release music in North America and Europe, and in 2004 became the first band from Indonesia to tour Europe, with shows in Germany, the Netherlands and Sweden. Since 2009, Kekal has worked without a fixed official lineup, a freedom that has shaped its music ever since.
