Danish progressive metal band Kinetic have released a music video for “Digital Mind”, taken from their debut full-length Liminal, out now via Eclipse Records. Directed by keyboardist Marcus H. Levin, the clip imagines a future where people leave their bodies behind to live forever inside a virtual network.

“The central visual symbol throughout the video is the band itself gradually glitching and distorting digitally. This represents the slow transition from a physical state into a digital one, mirroring the transformation taking place within the story.”
Marcus H. Levin
Levin explains that the main character starts the video looking through old photos and memories as he comes to terms with uploading his consciousness, while the memories themselves begin to glitch. “Digital Mind” follows the earlier videos for “Evolution” and “Dyson“.
A 106-Minute Concept Album
Released October 16, Liminal is a big step up from the band’s 2025 EP Sentience. The 106-minute concept album is built around the Kardashev Scale, astrophysicist Nikolai Kardashev’s way of measuring a civilization’s technological progress by the energy it can harness. Favoring long, cinematic compositions over verse-chorus structures, Kinetic draw on the spirit of Tool, Pink Floyd and Dream Theater. Frederik Uglebjerg (Galge, MØL, Trold, Isbjörg) produced, engineered, mixed and mastered the record, with cover art by Lasse H. Görlitz and Marcus H. Levin.
