Rob Zombie is celebrating Halloween with a brand new music video for “Sir Lord Acid Wolfman,” taken from his latest studio album, The Great Satan, out now via Nuclear Blast Records. The song sits at track seven on the record, and its video gives another of the album’s creatures a chance to come out and play at the most fitting time of the year.

The song also has a second life on vinyl. “Sir Lord Acid Wolfman” appeared as the B-side to Sheri Moon Zombie’s new single “I Love My Robot,” released on a limited-edition picture disc that has already sold out worldwide.

Back to His Hellbilly Roots

The Great Satan ended a five-year wait for new Rob Zombie music and returned him to his Hellbilly roots across 15 tracks. “Sir Lord Acid Wolfman” is the latest in a long run of videos from the album, following clips for songs such as “Tarantula” and “The Black Scorpion”. His previous record, The Lunar Injection Kool Aid Eclipse Conspiracy, debuted at number nine on the Billboard Top 200 in 2021, his seventh consecutive solo album to debut in the top ten.

Zombie first made his name with the multi-platinum White Zombie before a solo career that has taken him past fifteen million albums sold worldwide. He is also the writer and director of nine feature films, including House of 1000 Corpses, The Devil’s Rejects, The Munsters and the number one smash Halloween.

Our Take

Few artists own a holiday the way Rob Zombie owns Halloween. This is a musician who wrote and directed a film with that very title, so a new monster video on the eve of October 31 feels less like a marketing plan than a tradition. A song title like “Sir Lord Acid Wolfman” tells you exactly what you are getting, and that is the charm. After all these years he still treats horror and rock ‘n’ roll as the same thing, and he has yet to run out of creatures.
