Dutch progressive modern metal outfit Sledeon will release their new album Sovereign on October 28, 2026. It is their second full-length and fourth release overall, once again self-released by the band.
Following their 2024 debut full-length Futuroscope, the band arrives heavier, darker and more ambitious, with a stronger focus on atmosphere, contrast and visual experience.
The singles released so far, “Phoenix (The End of the Realm),” “The Messenger,” “Golden House” and “Dark Halo,” together set the stage for an album built around collapse, control and transformation. With Sovereign, Sledeon offer their own vision of where metal is heading: heavy, hypnotic and boundary-pushing.
Their sound layers heavy riffs with electronic and symphonic textures, topped by the expressive vocals of Fabienne Hurkens. The result is often cinematic and immersive, and sometimes suddenly and surprisingly catchy. Live is where the band really lets loose, intense and infectiously dynamic.
For fans of Evergrey, Lacuna Coil and Vola.
