Long-running California hard rockers Tesla have shared the official music video for its cover of Aerosmith‘s “S.O.S. (Too Bad)”. The song is a bonus track on Tesla‘s live album, “Full Throttle Live!”, which arrived this past May. The LP includes the band’s “Time To Rock!” single, plus other songs, all recorded in August 2022 at Full Throttle Saloon in Sturgis, South Dakota.
The 1970s era of Aerosmith was a huge musical influence on Tesla, with singer Jeff Keith and guitarist Frank Hannon listing the legendary rockers’ “Live! Bootleg” as one of their favorite albums of all time.
“As a young guitarist in 1978, I studied Aerosmith‘s ‘Live! Bootleg’ album, learning all the raw guitar licks they played live,” Hannon said. “When it came time to pick a song to top off Tesla‘s new live album, we chose a classic riff rocker from that legendary live album to pay tribute to Aerosmith and the raw realness of such a great guitar riff!”
The video for Tesla‘s version of “S.O.S. (Too Bad)” was recorded and filmed live in Hannon‘s garage and can be seen below.
