Hamburg power metal veterans Iron Savior have released “Climbing Higher,” a new single with an official visualizer from their upcoming album Deathbringer. The record arrives on November 13 via Frontiers Music Srl, the same day the band opens its German tour in Siegburg.

“For sure another hit single. ‘Climbing Higher’ is probably the most commercial song on the album. Of course, those kind of tunes always risk to be cheesy and to disappear as fast as they have risen… But this one has something special that, at least for me, makes it one of the strongest tracks. Even though the song is commercial, it’s full of honest emotions blended together with catchy melodies… I love this song!”

The Fourth Look at Deathbringer
“Climbing Higher” follows “Back From The Fires Of Hell” and “Light In The Dark”, which already showed the album’s speed metal side. This one runs just over five minutes and sits at track seven, a mid-paced motivational anthem built on a big chorus rather than velocity.
Deathbringer is Iron Savior’s first album of new material since 2023’s Firestar. In between, the band completed the third instalment of its Reforged series, re-recording the songs from its Noise Records era, and released a covers album. It is also a return to the concept format: after 200 years of peace, the Shadows, an insectoid species and ancient enemy of mankind, are back. Their immortal Queen has kept the last of her kind alive inside an eternal digital hive aboard the gigantic Deathbringer vessel, and the Iron Savior and the Alliance must face them once again.
As always, Sielck produced, mixed and mastered the album himself at his own Powerhouse Studio, and he wrote all the music and lyrics. The release also marks 30 years of Iron Savior. The album closes with a cover of Judas Priest‘s “Fever” as a bonus track.

Our Take
Sielck is right to flag the risk: a song built to be catchy can wear out fast. What keeps “Climbing Higher” on the right side of cheesy is the conviction in his voice and the fact that it gives a dense sci-fi saga some air. After two fast singles, it shows Deathbringer has more than one gear, and that is a good sign for an album 30 years into a career.
Line-up: Piet Sielck (lead vocals, guitars), Joachim “Piesel” Küstner (guitars), Patrick Opitz (bass), Patrick Klose (drums).
