Corrosion of Conformity have shared a live video of “Baad Man” and “Lose Yourself,” recorded at Sweetwater Studios in Fort Wayne, Indiana during the band’s North American tour earlier this year. Both songs come from the second disc of their double album Good God / Baad Man, released in April via Nuclear Blast, and the two live tracks are also out now as a digital single titled Sweetwater Throwdown.

Sweetwater Studios, founded in 1979, is a multi-studio recording and mixing facility that blends classic analog gear with modern technology. While they were there, the band also remixed the entire Good God / Baad Man album in the studio’s Dolby Atmos room. Dolby Atmos adds height channels to traditional surround sound for a three-dimensional listening experience, and the new mix is available now on Apple Music.
Good God / Baad Man
Produced by Grammy winner Warren Riker, whose credits include Fugees, Down and Cathedral, and featuring cover art by New Orleans artist Scott Guion, the album was recorded at Blak Shak Studios, Dockside Studios in Louisiana and the Bee Gees’ Barry Gibb’s home studio in Florida. Decibel called it the band’s most ambitious album to date, and it moves from furious punk on “Gimme Some Moore” to Southern stoner rock on “You Or Me” and acoustic Americana on “Brickman.” It is available on digipak CD, vinyl, now including transparent blue and red editions, and digitally. Earlier videos from the album include “Asleep On The Killing Floor,” “You Or Me” and “Gimme Some Moore.”

Our Take
Riff-heavy bands like Corrosion of Conformity live and die on stage, and a live studio session is the best way to show that this double album holds up outside the studio. Pairing it with a full Dolby Atmos remix is an unusual move for a band rooted in sludge and Southern rock, and a nice bonus for headphone listeners who want to hear every layer of a record this big.
