Progressive art-rock veterans The Pineapple Thief are thrilled to reveal their upcoming studio album, Far and Wide, set to drop on October 9, 2026, through InsideOutMusic.

On this new record, the band leans into their rock identity more heavily than ever before. While they continue to deliver their signature atmospheric sound and complex reflections on our turbulent modern era, they do so with a renewed, raw energy. After ten years and seven records with drummer Gavin Harrison in the fold, the newly signed InsideOut artists have bottled the momentum and chemistry built from extensive touring and commanding larger stages.

To celebrate the album’s announcement, the band has released the intense lead single, “New World Order.” The track arrives with a visually stunning music video directed by their frequent collaborator, George Laycock of Black Tide Productions. You can watch the video premiere (11 am EST / 4 pm UK / 5 pm CET) here:

Far and Wide blends the group’s labyrinthine musicality into direct, sharp, and focused songs.

“We realised, for instance, that you don’t need more than two guitar parts at any one time,” frontman/founder Bruce Soord says. “You know, ’why have we got four or five guitars? Why have we got six-part harmonies when there’s only three of us singing?’ We deliberately created those constraints, because we thought, ‘we’re a rock band, there’s five of us on stage, this is what we should be about in the studio.’”

“You do start to imagine what a song would look like on a stage, and sometimes that does influence the arrangement,” Harrison adds. “Like, ‘this would be amazing live when we do this, if this section just went into this other thing’, and you can picture it with the lights and the atmosphere on stage.”

This stage-ready mentality perfectly suits the powerful and immersive nature of the new tracklist. Far and Wide paints a picture of a fractured society, exploring themes of resilience against hardship and the profound ripple effects of personal loss. It builds upon the heavy thematic groundwork established in 2024’s It Leads To This, where the band pondered the uncertain future inherited by the next generation.

Fans will have multiple formats to choose from when purchasing Far and Wide. Options include a limited edition 2CD and Blu-ray artbook featuring the bonus track “Daylight,” alongside a second CD of instrumental versions and a Blu-ray boasting Dolby Atmos, DTS-HD 5.1 Surround Sound, and 24/48 Stereo Mixes. The record is also being offered as a Special Edition CD Digipak, a Gatefold LP in various colors, and on digital platforms in both stereo and Dolby Atmos.

All physical formats feature striking cover art showcasing an abstract sculpture created by the late Michael Schoenholtz, the father of Harrison’s longtime partner, Hannah.
