Canadian progressive rock duo Crown Lands have released the Casting Stones EP, three tracks recorded during the sessions for their latest album Apocalypse. The band has also announced an Apocalypse Deluxe Edition, out December 11, 2026 as a 2CD digipak and digital album via InsideOutMusic.
Stream Casting Stones here and watch the duo perform the title track live at Chalet Studios:
Vocalist and drummer Cody Bowles says the song was born from a difficult period when someone attacked their identity and character, an experience that revealed how resilient they really are.
“This song serves as a karmic reminder to those who do, or wish, ill will toward others: whatever you throw out into the world will come back around, often harder than you expect.”
Cody Bowles
It was the first song written for Apocalypse, but it was left off the record because it had nothing to do with the album’s story of Karagon and The Syndicate.

Apocalypse Deluxe Edition
The deluxe edition adds a second disc with the Casting Stones EP, four tracks recorded live at Chalet, and a live recording of the epic title track with an expanded lineup. Pre-order here.
Apocalypse marked a turning point for the band. After making Rituals in their home studio, Crown Lands took near-total control of production, writing and recording much of the album in the same room they have used since 2020, with producers Nick Raskulinecz and David Bottrill brought in for key moments.
“That record gave us the confidence to realize we could make a Crown Lands album in our own space, without a major-label budget or a big, fancy studio.”
Kevin Comeau
