Melodic power metal outfit Signum Regis have revealed a new single and lyric video for “Back to Zero,” featuring guest vocalist Tasos Lazaris (Steel Arctus, White Wizzard). The track is the fourth preview of the band’s upcoming eighth studio album, Beyond Spacetime, due out October 9 via Fireflash Records.
Founded in 2007, Signum Regis specialize in finest melodic power metal with both progressive and symphonic elements. Beyond Spacetime is a notably ambitious record, featuring a remarkable roster of guest vocalists: current singer Mayo Petranin, who recently returned to the band, and his successor Jota Fortinho, alongside top-tier names such as Tim “Ripper” Owens (ex-Judas Priest), Matt Smith (Theocracy), Ralf Scheepers (Primal Fear), Johnny Gioeli (Hardline, Axel Rudi Pell), Tasos Lazaris, and David Åkesson (Symphonity). Victor Smolski (Almanac, ex-Rage) also contributes a guitar solo on “Throne Of Gold.”
Speaking about the new single, the band commented:
“Our new single ‘Back to Zero’ is a hard-rocking song about standing up after you’ve fallen to your knees – about coming back from a difficult situation stronger than ever. The lead singer on this one is Tasos Lazaris. After he finished recording it, I knew this guy was pure gold. Amazing performance on a great song written by our old friend and former Signum Regis drummer Luděk Struhař, with lyrics by Tommy König.”

The album was mixed and produced by guitarist Filip Koluš, with final mastering handled by Miro Kiiski (Beast In Black, Hypocrisy). Koluš describes it as a bold step forward:
“We are so satisfied and proud of it! Even though the last 3 years were not easy for the band, this is definitely not just a ‘next’ Signum Regis album, we are a band, we are always aiming to create something special – for us, and for fans. We jumped out of our basic style, we were experimenting with new things in the studio a lot, we teleported King Rex from the ground to space – which sounds crazy, but that’s how it was supposed to be!”

Full of diversity, Beyond Spacetime spans uptempo power metal hymns, epic and progressive tracks, true metal fist-raisers, neo-classical-inspired pieces, and beautiful ballads — with all the different voices fitting together seamlessly. The album is rounded out by artwork from Uwe Jarling, known for his work with Heaven’s Gate, Grave Digger, and Front Row Warriors. As the band gears up to celebrate their 20th anniversary next year, Beyond Spacetime already feels like a best-of journey through their past, present, and future.
The album will be available as a CD Jewelcase — including the exclusive bonus track “Tell Our Fears Goodbye” featuring Johnny Gioeli on vocals — and as a limited, colored (sunny yellow) vinyl version with a signed autograph card.
