Progressive metal outfit Teramaze have gone back to one of their most beloved songs, revisiting “Weight of Humanity” with a brand-new recording that puts the band’s current lineup front and center.
The reason behind the re-record is a simple one: the band still love playing the song live. Rather than reinventing it, Teramaze kept the arrangement faithful to the version fans already know while letting the performance reflect the energy and chemistry of the group as it stands today.
Guitarist and founder Dean Wells explained the approach:
“We absolutely love playing this song live, so we thought it would be fun to give it a fresh recording and a slightly new spin. We’ve kept the song essentially the same, but played it the way we perform it today.”
– Dean Wells
The result is a fresh take on a Teramaze favorite, familiar enough to hold on to what made the original special while capturing how the band sounds and performs in 2026. For longtime fans it is a chance to hear a classic through the lens of the current lineup, and for newcomers it works as an introduction to the group’s dynamic.
“We hope you enjoy it!”
– Dean Wells

The new “Weight of Humanity” features Dean Wells (guitars, backing vocals), Nathan Peachey (vocals), Andrew Cameron (bass), Nick Ross (drums) and Luke Rosten (keyboards).
