Danish death and metallic hardcore outfit Lifesick have released a new standalone single and video, “Hard To Kill”, a short, punishing track that leans hard into the ferocity the band is known for.
The band explained the song:
“‘Hard To Kill’ blends a groovy death metal-inspired riff with fast hardcore energy before collapsing into a series of crushing breakdowns, closing with the statement ‘Hard to Kill!’ Lyrically, it’s pure defiance shaped by pain but impossible to break.”
Lifesick came together in 2014 when guitarists Nikolai Lund and Nicolai Lindegaard formed the band after their previous group, No Love, broke up. The goal was something more uncompromising and aggressive, and they found their footing in the Scandinavian hardcore scene quickly.
The name came from vocalist Simon Shoshan, drawn from the hardships and struggles people carry through life, a theme that still runs through the band’s writing. Their sound pulls from metallic hardcore, beatdown and hardcore punk, and their live shows have built much of their reputation, alongside a run of releases dealing with struggle, conflict and endurance.
The band says more news is coming in the weeks ahead.
