Los Angeles outfit Dead Poet Society have released “Miami For The Weekend,” the final preview of their forthcoming album Monarch, out October 2 via Spinefarm.

It follows “Cold,” “Roach” and “Sinner Systems,” tracks that showcase the album’s balance of weight, melody and emotional intensity. The early reaction has been strong, with Revolver calling the material tense and knotted with danceable dread, Kerrang! describing the songs as seething, and Consequence hailing the tracks as a glorious success.

Monarch was produced by Mutemath frontman Paul Meany, whose credits include Twenty One Pilots and Pierce The Veil, mixed by Grammy winner Adam Hawkins (Turnstile, Yungblud), and recorded at Valley View Studios and The Park in Los Angeles.

“We wanted to carve out our own piece of territory,” says vocalist and guitarist Jack Underkofler of the band’s approach to writing the record. “I just wanted to swing for the fences with this one. All the things I felt made us, I wanted to see how much deeper I could go with them and try to boil down the essence of the feeling that makes Dead Poet Society who we are.”

The result builds on the foundation of 2021’s -!- and 2024’s FISSION, and stands as their most expansive and emotionally resonant collection yet. It embraces contrast, weight against melody, vulnerability against defiance, and works the tension between them.

Alongside the album, fans have been exploring The House, an interactive world inspired by the Monarch artwork, where a young girl sits ringed by phones. Phones that are ringing. It can be found at band.fans/thehouse.
