Canadian modern metal band Osyron have released a new single and video, “Higher,” and opened pre-sales for their forthcoming self-titled fifth album. Osyron arrives November 27, 2026, via Distortion Music Group, powered by Reigning Phoenix Music.

Guitarist Bobby Harley explains the choice of lead single:

“We chose this song as the first single because we feel it’s a great representation of the band as we are now, and a good overall idea of the album. We wanted you to be able to sing the chorus right back to us after hearing it for the first time, but then leave you with a sore neck from the outro. It has all you love in an Osyron song – catchy chorus, heavy verses, dual guitar harmonies, drums, and even vocals.”

The track’s roots go back further than most listeners would guess:

“Also, this is one of those tracks where the foundation is much older than you’d expect. The riffs and polyrhythmic patterns in the verses and outro were pulled from an idea Tyler wrote back in 2013. It finally felt like the right time to revive it, bringing it to life collaboratively with many more years of musical growth behind us.”

Emerging out of an atmospheric haze, “Higher” erupts with thunderous guitar rhythms and discordant harmonies. The chorus soars with melodic intensity while the heavy foundation stays relentless, moving between compelling vocal melodies and monstrous harsh vocals.

On signing with Distortion Music Group, the band commented:

“We’re absolutely thrilled to be joining the Distortion Music Group family for this next chapter of Osyron. After more than a decade of building this band, releasing four somewhat okay albums, playing shows across North America and Europe, developing our sound, and even having a Polish guy in the band, finding the right label for this record was extremely important to us.”

“DMG’s passion for heavy music, their international reach, and the connections they have throughout the metal community make them the perfect partner for what we want to accomplish with this album.”

Maurizio Iacono, General Manager of DMG and frontman of Kataklysm, added:

“We are proud to introduce Osyron to the DMG family. The band is one of Canada’s best-kept secrets that will finally get the chance to shine on a world stage; We are happy to have them on board as they continue their journey through the progressive power metal world!”

About Osyron

Formed in 2012, Osyron are known for powerful lyrics, complex melodies, soaring clean vocals and carefully placed contrasting vocal styles.

Their last album Momentous, released in November 2022, marked a major international step. Three of its four singles, “Dominion Day,” “Beyond the Sun” and “Anunnaki,” spent over four weeks on Spotify’s All New Metal playlist, while “The Deafening,” featuring Stu Block of Iced Earth, Annihilator and Into Eternity alongside Percival Schuttenbach of The Witcher 3 soundtrack, drew praise from media and fans alike. The record has passed 174,000 streams on Spotify, and the band was nominated for Metal Band of the Year at the 2023 Western Canadian Music Awards.

Osyron have shared stages with Nightwish, Insomnium, Evergrey, Dark Tranquillity, Kamelot, Dragonforce, Amorphis, Kreator, Destruction and Hypocrisy, among others, including appearances connected to 70,000 Tons of Metal. Their metal version of “O Canada” was licensed for a Destination Canada ski video shown before all screenings of Warren Miller’s 2021 film Winter Starts Now, and they received the FACTOR Canada Juried Sound Recording grant that same year.

In 2023 they made their European festival debut at Rock Castle in Czechia alongside HammerFall, Amaranthe, U.D.O., Alestorm, Beast In Black and Doro, and toured North America on a 16-date run supporting Seven Kingdoms. In summer 2024 they returned to Europe for six shows, including Masters of Rock in Czechia sharing the billing with Judas Priest, Bruce Dickinson, Avantasia and Accept.

The new self-titled album is built around overcoming adversity, defining one’s purpose and finding one’s TELOS, focused on emerging victorious through struggle and perseverance.
