Masked producer and Metal & Bass pioneer Zardonic has released “Godhead Interface,” featuring Dino Cazares of Fear Factory and Daniel “Kaio” Soto of Protopig. The track is the lead single from his fifth studio album, DIGICIDE, which arrives on March 12, 2027 via Phobos/MMC. The official lyric video is streaming now.

The album takes aim at algorithmic control, surveillance capitalism and the erosion of human identity. Zardonic, born Federico Ágreda Álvarez in Venezuela and now based in Germany, says the record came from a hard place:
“This album is easily the most difficult body of work I’ve ever put together. It stems from deeply traumatic personal experiences that forced me to see the darkest corners of our system.”
Zardonic
Cazares says the link between the two runs deep. Zardonic worked on Fear Factory’s RECODED album and added synth work and electronic elements to new Fear Factory material, so the invitation was an easy one to accept:
“The track is a collision of heavy guitars, industrial electronics, and pure sonic aggression. Protopig delivered some vocals that really brought the whole thing together.”
Dino Cazares
Soto, who has known Zardonic since their early days in the Venezuelan metal scene in the 2000s, called the collaboration “an absolute honor” and said the story behind the album feels “more urgent than ever.”
Mayhem, Fear Factory and More on DIGICIDE
DIGICIDE follows Vulgar Display Of Bass (2012), Antihero (2015), Become (2018) and Superstars (2023). The guest list stretches well beyond the single, with Attila Csihar and Charles “Ghul” Hedger of Mayhem on “Dehumanize,” Liv Sin and Neuroklast on “From The Ashes,” Danny Saber on “Salvation” and drum and bass MC Coppa on “Lose Control.”

Our Take
Zardonic has spent more than two decades proving that drum and bass and heavy metal belong in the same room, and few pairings make more sense for a record about machines than one with Dino Cazares, whose band built its whole identity on that theme. The song’s target is not the technology but the people who built it and looked away, which gives it more bite than the usual robot apocalypse. With two members of Mayhem still to come, this is shaping up as one of the stranger and more ambitious releases of early 2027.
