Neal Morse & The Resonance have shared a video for “Shine Until Tomorrow,” the second single from their upcoming album River of Light. The record arrives on November 27, 2026 via InsideOut Music and follows the band’s 2024 debut, No Hill For A Climber.

The song came together quickly. Morse explains:

“Love this track! I think Johnny and I wrote this together in about an hour. It was Johnny’s riff that opens the song, but when I played it on bass and put it through some effects, I think it really came out even cooler.”

Vocalist Johnny Bisaha remembers exactly where that riff came from:

“I woke up the night before our first writing session at 3am, sang the riff into my phone, then went back to sleep. Woke up a few hours later, learned it, and wrote the first couple of verses!”

The Story of Terah

River of Light is a concept album about a spiritual journey, a theme longtime Morse fans will recognize. This time the inspiration is Terah, the often overlooked father of Abraham. “Terah signifies someone who begins a journey with God but gets tired and allows sadness and resignation to keep them from going all the way,” Morse says. “However, his son completes the journey.”

The band started working on ideas in October 2025, after a run of live shows that summer, and at one point had enough material for a double album before trimming it to a single record. Guitarist Andre Madatian and Bisaha played a bigger role in the writing this time. The album will be released as a limited 2CD digipak with a second disc of instrumentals, a standard CD and a digital album. We covered the first single when the band announced River of Light with “Walk On Water”.

Our Take

When Neal Morse launched this project with a group of little-known musicians, it was a gamble. Two years later the chemistry is clearly real, and a riff sung into a phone at 3am turning into a single in an hour says a lot about how this band works. “Shine Until Tomorrow” is the more direct, band-driven side of a prog concept album, and it makes the wait until November 27 feel shorter.
