Swiss alt-metal band Wörmdigger have shared a lyric video for “Imagine,” taken from their debut EP We Shall Remain. The four-track release arrives digitally on November 13, 2026 via Wormholedeath, and it is aimed squarely at fans of Breaking Benjamin, Alter Bridge, Tremonti and Godsmack.
The songs were written between 2018 and 2020, when brothers Sandro and Jerome Häni were based at New Sound Studio in Switzerland. Working regularly with established artists there gave them a close look at the production standards of the scene. The band recorded, mixed and mastered the EP after the COVID-19 pandemic, which gave them the chance to revisit the material with a few more years of experience behind them.
Worm Diggers From Switzerland
Sandro and Jerome discovered heavy music as children through their father and have been writing together since 2011, building their sound around dense riffing, raw energy and detailed studio production. They met Rico Vaterlaus at school, when he was playing in a punk band while they worked on a metal project. In 2017 the brothers opened their own recording studio, and when Rico’s band split in 2018 he joined them, bringing punk-flavored melodies that merged with their heavier influences.
Drummer Nicolas Borner joined in 2021 after meeting the brothers through studio work, and second guitarist Felix Straub later came on board to play songs originally written for two guitars. The name comes from a joke: Rico used to call the brothers “Würmligrübbler,” Swiss German for “worm diggers,” and the nickname stuck.
We Shall Remain comes out through Wormholedeath, the Italian label behind a wide roster of underground rock and metal acts, and promotion is handled by Carlo Bellotti Publishing. The EP is short, with four songs, but it is designed as a calling card for a band that has been building its sound for years in the studio before stepping out with its own music. Interviews with the band are available through the label.

Our Take
A band that runs its own studio usually knows exactly how it wants to sound, and that shows in how much care Wörmdigger put into this first release. Waiting years to record songs written before the pandemic is a patient move, but it means the EP arrives polished. The modern hard rock lane they are aiming for is crowded, so it will be interesting to see how they stand out over a full album. For a debut, “Imagine” is a confident first step.
